Mandy Takhar, whose original name is Mandeep Kaur Takhar primarily appeared in Punjabi films and now she is a British Indian model and actress. She was born and brought up in Wolverhampton in United Kingdom. Her birth date as known is 1 May. She originally belongs to Maliana, which is a small town near Phagwara (Punjab). She has her roots laid up in Maliana. Dreaming of being a Bollywood actress, Mandy studied drama from Kingston University in London when she was 17 years old. In 2006, Mandy left UK and came to India to pursue her career as a model and actor in Indian film industry. She started her career in Mumbai by doing TV commercials and two South Indian films. In 2010, she was offered a role in a Punjabi movie Ekam-Son of Soil opposite Punjabi singer Babbu Mann.
In 2012, after two years, she was seen in another Punjabi movie Mirza-The Untold Story opposite Gippy Grewal. She later landed up with her role in a Bollywood movie ‘Bumboo’, which was less known by the audience. She also acted opposite Sangram Singh as a Canada-based businesswoman in ‘Saadi Wakhri Hai Shaan’. She was starred in ‘Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22’ in the year 2013 with Arminder Gill and Honey Singh. She was later seen in another Bollywood movie Akaash Vani. She also did a debut in Tamil cinema in Biriyani with Venkat Prabhu as a director also starring Karthi. She was also seen in another Punjabi Movie ‘Ishq Garari’. She has also won award as the most prominent and popular face of 2012-13.
